What Is Live Foal Guarantee?
Every order includes a Live Foal Guarantee (LFG).
A "live foal" is defined as one that stands and nurses unassisted within 48 hours of birth. If no live foal results from the insemination using frozen semen from Zapphire Boy, the mare owner will be entitled to one (1) replacement dose at no additional cost, subject to the following conditions:
- The mare was inseminated by a licensed veterinarian or approved reproduction facility.
- The mare owner notifies us in writing within 7 days of the loss and provides a veterinary certificate confirming the failed pregnancy or foal loss.
- All veterinary records related to the insemination and pregnancy are made available upon request.
- The mare owner has complied with all terms of the semen use agreement.
This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original mare listed in the breeding agreement.

About the Stallion Zapphire:
Zapphire is a breeding stallion with elite bloodlines, beautiful conformation, and great temperament. His sire (Zafferano) is a unique stallion that is currently competing Grand Prix dressage and was the most used warmblood Palomino stallion in Europe 2024. Other notable relatives include Quite Easy, a showjumping stallion that placed 4th in the 2002 Olympic Games. His Grand Sire Hohenstaufen II' was a succesful Grand Prix dressage horse, however his lineage does also encompass significant showjumping bloodlines. His dam, Langata's Dame, produced offspring successful in showjumping, such as Ramila, who competed at the 1.60m level . Additionally, his granddam, Pikdame, is the full sister to Pik Bube's Girl, Germany's best mare of 1990 . Pikdame also produced Ramiro's Son I and II, both of whom had significant showjumping careers.
Our team is available 7 days a week to discuss your breeding program and insemination dose questions. For the live foal guarantee to apply, artificial insemination must be performed by a certified vet.
- The stud fee includes three vials and a Live Foal Guarantee. The chute fee is also included.
- We have Fresh Semen available for the American Market (USA & Canada). Frozen Semen Available for Europe and Australia.
- We will ship the semen order as soon as you (the mare owner) confirm by email or phone that the mare is ready for it. The natural breeding season usually runs from April to September, but we are available to ship semen all year around.
- Zapphire is not available for live cover.
- No shipping cost added
All American breeders can order fresh semen with only 72 hours' notice. We ship the semen once the semen collection is done locally in San diego with FedEx next-day delivery, the same day or the next day.
